The readers’ service procedure is regulated by “Readers’ sevice rules”.
Opening hours: 08a.m.-07p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays the library is closed. The last Wednesday of every month is closed for the readers.

LTL is available for all the residents of Lithuania and for foreigners.
Pensioners, the disabled of I and II group are rendered a 50% discount.
A reader’s card gives a right to register and read in the subdivisions of all LIBIS libraries.
Catalogue

Literature is ordered in Catalogues Hall. On the average 42 thous. orders are booked per year. Readers can use not only traditional catalogues, but also an electronic database.
A consultant helps to find a desirable literature, providees all necessary information on the services provided in the library.
There is a possibility to order books with bibliographic describtion in computer with a help of a computer without filling in an order-form. It is also possible to order books via internet.
Lending

The ordered publications are lend for taking out: books – for one month, periodicals – for two weeks. No more than 5 publications are lent at a time for one reader. If required it is possible to renew a book in the library or by telephone. There is a sequence made for books of great demand. Reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias and single copies of the publications are not lent for taking out.

Reading Room

The Reading Room contains 70 work places for readers.
The collection of the Reading Room comprises publications in Lithuanian and foreign languages:
· recent year newspapers and magazines;
· encyclopedias;
· linguistic and branch dictionaries;
· reference books;
· the most popular textbooks and books
There is a new books exposition mounted in the Reading Room.
The weak-eyed readers can also read in the Reading Room – there is a special magnifying reading device.
The ground floor of the library is designed for the needs of disabled visitors. The ordered documents and publications are delivered from the departments located on other floors (patent, standards, business information, foreign literature, bibliography) to the general Reading Room for the disabled visitors.
